Back to Salvador de Bahia. What a thrill to meet it again, so sensual, shiny, black… more beautiful than the first time and we also have the good fortune to meet again some friends for one last moqueca with macaxeira and feijoada together.
Back to São Paulo. What impression to meet it again: relentless, ever-changing, cosmopolitan… in a breathless mix of looks, cultures, religions, a strong heart that never stops beating.
A few hours and we can already feel the electrifying air of a fiery sunset, those that penetrate the soul and blind thoughts, already walking toward the sweet rest of the starry night, feebly illuminated by a honey-colored moon…
Walking from Lorena to Paraty
Lorena is the hub, the meeting point with old friends and the time from which the journey will never be the same again, engulfed in a whirlwind of extraordinary events. Beginning with an adventure, a walk long nearly 100 kilometers from Lorena leads us on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, in Paraty, on the strip of coast between San Paolo and Rio de Janeiro.
Everything starts from a rough road that penetrates the dense tropical forest of the hills around Lorena. Here the trail continues walking through the lush green of the plants, the bright colors of the flowers and the constant voices of the many animals. Once passed the ridge that divides the hinterland from the coast, a long descent begins to Paraty, with the view which gradually opens to a beautiful bay, dotted with numerous coves and breathtaking views.
Late in the evening we reach Paraty, a small jewel, a sort of Rio without homes, with the same morros overlooking the ocean, waterfalls, white houses and narrow cobblestone streets.
São Paulo of Brazil
We arrive in the giant economic capital of South America, a monster of concrete and skyscrapers, we had never seen anything like São Paulo in our journey. The city that cannot stop.
A tremendous luck makes us meet our friends, waiting for us in the evening crowd at the rodoviaria barra funda. Around us is not the deep green of Corumbá and places visited in the journey to São Paulo, but a continuous and impenetrable jungle of high buildings.
The cosmopolitan city, a melting pot of cultures, a mixture of looks, all to be experienced dangling from one place to another, from square to square, like all the metropolis love to be visited.
